What qualifications are required? Can't Post

An energy Assessor will need to have both appropriate qualifications or competence and accreditation:

Energy Assessor Qualification. Energy Assessors should hold a current qualification in Energy Inspection (i.e. RdSAP2005 or SAP).This is being developed as part of a National Occupational Standard in Energy Inspection. It will demonstrate that they have the technical competence to produce a certificate. The qualification will be approved by the Qualifications and Curriculum Agency. Qualification bodies will develop assessment procedures that that align with the National Occupational Standard.

Energy Assessor Accreditation. Accreditation is the management arrangement that provides reassurance that someone who has the relevant technical experience is permitted to produce a certificate on an ongoing basis. Different accreditation schemes are likely for each sector requiring certificates. To be an Energy Assessor an individual must be a member of an Accreditation scheme. Membership of such a scheme will only last as long as an individual satisfies the accreditation requirements.

Hi,

Commercial Energy Assessor courses are open to anyone, you do not have to have an existing diploma for RdSAP energy assessment, as for domestic energy assessment, however this would be advantageous as you would gain credit for parts of the training modules. The only other drawback is that without an existing diploma the course may take longer to complete.

One such training provider which will be providing such training is:

EPC Solutions based in Milton Keynes, they have a good record in this field.

Further information for energy assessment in this field can be found at:

Further information of the course content and booking availability can be viewed at:

Commercial Property Energy Assessors Training

With commercial buildings requiring energy assessment from April 2008 there will be no doubt that there will be a shortage of inspection personnel for the commercial, public and private sector of the property market.

Further information regarding SAP Assessors & training can be found at:

and at:

Hope this helps
