Can I have views from NDAE's particularly on DECs and private often called 'independent, schools?How are you reconciling the advice given in CLG's Guidance document that specifies the criteria for DECs with the stance taken by Trading Standards who have sough and received advice on the application to private schools? The advice given to CLG to Trading Standards appears to contradict the document. See Section 1.2 (2) (a) (b) and (c) particularly the definitions.
I can assure any who do not know private Prep Schools, that they are not autonomous as they provide services that have been traditionally provide by government and local Councils. Also they are a way that parents can meet their statutory duty under the education legislation.They have very many vistors at frequent public open days, weekly sporting matches, regular coffe mornings, dances, concerts, plays etc. etc.
The standard of education is subject to Ofsted Inspections and the pastoral care provided si checked by local Social Services.
